Quick Thanks and Carboot Bargains

Just wanted to post a quick thank you for all your lovely comments so far, I really appreciate it! I have been to a Craft Fayre in Woburn and two carboots this weekend so am about to burst with ideas! Got loads of bargains!

Got this little wooden sign for 20p. I think I am going to re-paint it in either a beach hut design or go Christmassy with it.

Next, I got this big box of Christmas embellishments for £2. Lots in there!

I bought this mini framed picture for 20p. I did originally buy it to re-paint the frame and change the image but both the frame and painting have grown on me and it is now on my desk!

Lastly I got this set of mini drawers for £2. I'm going to keep some embellishments and SOME of my ribbons in them. I may decorate them when I get a chance!
This is just what I got yesterday at the carboot. I got loads more today plus all my stuff from the craft fayre which I am hoping to blog later. But right now, I have to do some"real" work Boooooooooooooooooo!!!!

Wedding Good Luck Gift

This is a little bear that I customised for a friends wedding last week.

I had a look around but could not find anything I liked so I bought this little bear from Asda for £1!

I then bought some ribbon and mini flowers to match her lilac colour scheme.

I also arranged her hen night and had some veil material left over so I made the bear a mini veil too.

I am really please with how it came out and may make a few more for craft fayres etc

My First What's On Your Workdesk!!

This is the very first time I have joined in with WOYWW!

I have a 14 month old son so I work from home in an admin role so I have to balance my desk between business and crafting!

I got up at 6am and did my business work and am now in the middle of making Christening Invites for my son Frankie's christening. Cannot decide on the layout though!

I also have my little bird house I bought the other day on my desk, waiting for a bit of inspiraton along with a horrible looking silver frame which I bought from the 99p Store! I am hoping to paint it and make it Shabby!

I love looking at all of your desks as mine seems so boring in comparison! I have to pack all my crafts away after each crafting session so I can put my business head on and get on with my work! I usually leave a few bits out for inspiration though!

A New Poundland Project

I bought this lovely little bird house from Poundland for ONE WHOLE POUND! It is made out of some sort of metal and I thought I could shabby it up when I get a chance!

These are my first attempts at Shabby Chic cards! I love the style but not sure if I have got it quite right yet! I have used paper doilies to decorate (60 for £1 from Poundland!) and I have also used a lacey cotton coaster (pack of £12 from Poundland) which I have made into a yo-yo using a tutorial from a fantastic blog called Lets Get Shabby http://http//letsgetshabby.blogspot.com/2010/04/mini-tutorial-how-to-make-yo-yos_30.html
The yo-yo looks quite different because of the lace but I am very pleased with it.
However, I cannot decide whether I like my cards or not!

A Mother's Day Gift

I made this for my mum for this year's Mothers Day. Yes, I know the colours are very, very loud but believe it or not, these are the colours in her kitchen! She was inspired by one of the kitchen ranges in Next and within a week, she had a bright green kitchen! I made it up with various different colours of card stock and ribbons and framed it in a black frame from Ikea.

She loved it!

Hama Beads

One of my many hobbies is playing with Hama Beads. These are the little plastic fuse beads that you arrange on a peg board and then iron in order to fuse together. I use a programme which can pixelate photos and you can then convert these to Hama Beads!

I did a large picture for my brother's birthday recently. The actual picture is of a character called Sully from the film "Commando". This is my brothers favourite film of all time so I thought I'd do this design for him. The picture is made up of over 10,000 individual beads and took me several weeks to complete.

The first photo shows it still on the boards before I ironed it. The last shows it framed and ready to go.

I think it has come out well although the photo I used was slightly blurred as it was a screen shot from the film rather than a photo. The best photos to use are very clear close ups. I did start one of my son Frankie's face but I pulled it apart because I wasn't happy with it. When I get some spare time I think I may try it again!

This is officially my first post!

I don't actually have any followers yet so I am blogging to myself! I am very good at talking to myself so this should be easy!

I am going to use this space to display the various hand-made items that I have made and the little gems that I find when I am out and about shopping.

My latest craze is hand-made gift bags which I make using a variety of different papers and card. The two gift bags in the picture were made from wall paper samples and then threaded with ribbon.
